Chanel Ombre Matelassees Palette

Hey everyone,  as soon as I heard about this I knew straight away I needed to write a blog post about it to share with all of you!
The upcoming limited edition Chanel palette has been created to celebrate the re-opening of the boutique on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.  The quilted design on the eye shadows is inspired by the much coveted 2.55 bags.

The eye shadows are housed in signature Chanel packaging, and the palette contains a selection of day-time appropriate shades as well as two darker shades to deepen your look and make it more evening appropriate.  The shades included are: Pear, Pale Gold, Gold, Golden Khaki, and Black Night.  Looking at the palette, I feel like the shades Golden Khaki and Black Night would look lovely used as eye liners.

This photo is from TheBeautyLookbook, check out her blog for more swatches of this product!
This palette is definitely not inexpensive, priced at $80, and £46.  After I wrote this, I actually found some swatches of this palette on 'The Beauty Look Book'.  Looking at those swatches, the pigmentation is beautiful and these shimmery shadows look like they apply very smoothly and evenly.  The colours would work very nicely for Spring.   One downside is, I personally wouldn't want to use it a lot out of fear of ruining the gorgeous quilted design. Over all, the colours definitely look like you could find less expensive dupes for them.  It's definitely more of a luxury item, not a necessity.  However, if you're a fan of Chanel products and are willing to make the splurge, i say go for it!

Are any of you lovely ladies interested in purchasing this palette?
