Anastasia Brow Powder Duo Review

Pictures taken by me, from very late May
Hey everyone!
Having well groomed and filled in brows may not seem very important, but trust me when i say they are.  Eye brows are the first thing a person notices about another person, as well, brows serve as a frame for the entire face, therefore you want to make sure that your brows are well kept and lightly filled in.  As for the well-groomed part, waxing and tweezing can take care of that.  But if your brows are kind of sparse like mine, clearly, tweezers are not going to help you.  I've dealt with sparse brows my entire life, until now.  My life saver?  Anastasia brow powder duo in Brunette.

NOTD: Sephora by OPI 'Cover me in Petals'

Hey Everyone!
Today's NOTD is 'Cover me in Petals' by Sephora for OPI.  I think that this is the most perfect nail varnish for Summer time.  It is a stunning and vibrant tangerine red and coral fusion. Everybody knows that bright colors will always be in when it comes to Summer time, but sometimes older women can't pull of bright and vibrant blues and greens or fluorescent pinks simply because it looks too 'immature'. (Although i say you're never too old for a bright and fun nail color).  Does this mean that they should miss out on the trend?  No. This color is bright, but also fairly sophisticated as it has a red hue to it, therefore i feel that it's appropriate for all ages and for all events.  This is a color that i could see myself wearing to the beach, but also to a semi formal dinner.

Update!

Hey everyone!

So I've gotten a few questions asking why i deleted my healthy living posts and if I'm planning on doing them still.  Well, to answer your questions, I didn't delete them.  Nope!  In fact, I gave them their own page.

For those who don't know, my 'Summer in the City' page is actually what i decided to call my healthy living posts.  So all of my previously uploaded healthy living posts, like the bikram yoga and summer workout music posts have been re uploaded onto the Summer in the City page.  As well as some other cool posts like 'beach bag essentials' and a new Asian pear strawberry smoothie recipe.

So basically, any posts relating to Summer, like, fitness tips, recipes, DIY's, Summer fashion...things like that, will ALL be uploaded to the Summer in the City page.

As well, I'm currently trying to set up some guest bloggers to post some Summer tips for fashion and fitness, so be sure to check the Summer in the City page daily for all that good stuff! I think that's it for now, so have a great day and thank you for taking the time out to read this update!
July 7, 2011 update: Quickly, fashion maven, Lacey's blog post will be up some time tonight or tomorrow, so watch out for that! :)

Korres high shine cherry lip gloss Review

 Hey everyone!
Imagine a lipgloss that is perfect in every way.  It's shiny, long lasting, and not sticky.  The color payoff is amazing and the scent/taste can only be described as heavenly.  Now add hydration, antioxidant protection and to top it all off, a silicone, paraben, and propylene glycol free formulation?  Well, not only have you just described the most perfect lipgloss in the world, but you've just described Korres Cherry Lip gloss.

Today, I've decided to review this lipgloss in the shades Naked Rose #22 and Red #52.  This review is going to be pretty long though because the formulation, although kind of similar, is different in each lipgloss.

GTL: Elizabeth Swann - 'Glow from Within'

Today’s ‘Get the look’ comes from one of my favorite movies of all time, Pirates of the Caribbean and one of my favorite female characters of all time, Elizabeth Swann.  When I first decided to do a ‘get the look’ on this character, I considered doing one for her at the beginning of the first movie, when she’s kind of a little girlier, but I then decided to take a closer look at the character (by having a POTC marathon with my boyfriend).  What I realized?  Elizabeth is a very dynamic character.  Throughout the trilogy we see her go from a bratty but sweet girl to a self sufficient and confident woman.   (The only constant being her short temperedness).  Taking that into consideration, I decided to do a ‘get the look’ on the confident and self sufficient Elizabeth Swann.  I think that her lack of makeup shows off her confidence and natural beauty really well, and I think that it’s a look that could potentially do a good job of showing off your natural beauty too, because, although this is a makeup review blog, I definitely think that self confidence is very important, and part of that is learning to accept your natural beauty and being able to glow from within. So basically, today we're only going to be focusing on enhancing natural beauty, learning to 'glow from within' inspired by Elizabeth Swann. Note that this look can be used for a Halloween costume as well.  Let's get started!

Juicy Couture Perfume: Viva la Juicy review

Source

Hey Everyone!  Today I'm going to review for you the newest perfume to hit my collection, Viva la Juicy.  What initially attracted me to this perfume was the bottle.  I thought it was the prettiest thing i had ever seen - I'll go into detail about that later.  Obviously, though, i would never purchase a perfume based solely on packaging, so i sprayed it and took a sniff, and i.was.in.heaven.  This is the most perfect fun and girly scent for Summer

Get the look: Be Iconic like Kate Moss for Dior

Hey everyone!  Today I'm introducing a new series to this blog called: Get the Look.  The look we're going for today is Kate Moss' makeup in the promo video/poster for Dior Addict lipstick.  (For my review click here).  Let's get started!

In the picture Kate has flawless and dewy skin, thick winged liner a gorgeous pink pout and she doesn't appear to be wearing any eye shadow.  Her makeup is simple yet sexy so that's what we're going to go for today.  Note that besides the lipstick, nail varnishes and eye liner (which was used on Kate Moss) this isn't the makeup Kate Moss actually wore for the advert, it's simply my interpretation of the look, therefore, all products mentioned are merely suggestions, so you don't have to use those exact items to get this look, just similar ones.

New Benefit Chachatint

Hey Everyone!
Any person into makeup already knows about the famous lip and cheek stains that Benefit exclusively features.  This line includes the original and cult favorite benetint, which is a reddy-berry stain, as well as a more pink toned stain, my personal favorite, posietint.  Earlier this month, Benefit Cosmetics announced the unveiling of a sister for the already well known benetints.  Enter...Chachatint!

Benefit Cosmetics Boxed Blush Review - CORAlista

 Hey Everyone!
Today I'll be reviewing one of Benefit's boxed blushes, CORAlista.  I chose to review this particular one because I believe that it's a really nice peachy-coral blusher for Summer. So, let's get started!

NOTD! OPI Sweetheart

I mention today's NOTD all the time, and it is OPI Sweetheart.  It's a beautiful pink toned neutral and one of my all time favorite neutral nail varnishes.
It comes out as a kind of milky sheer on the first coat so you need approximately 3 coats for complete opacity.

What do you think of this nail varnish?
leave a comment below letting me know, follow this blog and follow me on twitter!

Have a great day,

Benefit Cosmetics: Bad Gal Lash Mascara Review

Hey Everyone!
Benefit Bad Gal Lash is many peoples holy grail mascara.  But I think the question on everybody's mind is why?  What do you get in this mascara that you couldn't get in a much cheaper drug store mascara? The answer to that is below.

NPOTD! Essie Turquoise and Caicos

I was a little shaky, I fixed it as best as i could.  Natural Light.
Hey Everyone!
I was outside enjoying the beautiful weather today when i decided to do a nail of the day!  Today's color is the ever so popular Turquoise and Caicos by Essie from their Resort 2010 collection.  This is a beautiful kind of Tiffany blue, and as i mentioned in my May favorites, it's my most worn polish ever which is why it's already a little more than half done. (sigh).  I wouldn't say that it is 100% Tiffany blue, it's a little more turquoise but it's the closest polish color I've found that is similar to that beautiful robin egg blue.

Paul Mitchell Smoothing Serum

Hey Everyone!
Lately I've been trying to take really good care of my hair. I say lately because i used to let it go natural but lately that has become a problem so i straighten my hair on almost a daily basis which means that I've had to take extra precautions to make sure that my hair is protected from that intense heat.  I use heat protection and organic shampoos and masks but no matter what I do, I haven't been able to get rid of frizz.  Frizz can only be described as the Green Goblin to my Spider man...the Joker to my Batman...the limit to my credit card.  Nothing, and i mean nothing has ever helped to smooth down that frizz and make my hair look and feel soft and shiny...enter Paul Mitchell's Smoothing Serum.

NPOTD!

Hey Everyone!
The nail polish of today is the CR super ultra brilliant nail polish in # 30.  It doesn't have an actual name, which is kind of weird. It's a gorgeous kind of iridescent pink.  I hate how this applies because the formulation of it is really thick so it takes a long time to dry and is kind of hard to apply.  The other thing i hate about this is the smell.  I can't even describe it, but it's disgusting, and I'm very sensitive to smell so i find it hard to handle.  Thankfully, it goes away in about 2 hours.  Considering all those cons, i think it's obvious that this is a polish that i do not wear often at all.

The color is gorgeous though and it's so nice for Spring/Summer.  I'm actually trying to find a dupe for it now, so if you know of a good dupe for this polish please let me know in the comments below!  Thank you!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip gloss Review - Pink Pop & Coral Reef

Hey there everyone!
With Summer only a month away I thought it suitable to review the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip gloss in the colors Pink Pop and Coral Reef which are both lovely colors for Summer.  I am absolutely in love with Revlon lip glosses, they are pretty much my holy grail drugstore lip glosses.  They come in a variety of wonderful colors from neutrals to fun bright colors.

MAC 266 angled eyeliner brush

Hey there everyone!
Today i sat down and decided to write a review on my all time favorite MAC brush, the 266.
The reason that this is my favorite is because it is a very versatile brush.  I mainly use this to fill in my brows on a daily basis but i also use it to line my eyes when i use cream eye liners and want more of a thicker line.
